Hyundai has recently launched the all new variant of the Grand i10, the NIOS, which is an absolute stunning beauty. It is to cater the mid segment and the specifications of the vehicle make it a complete family car. India is the first market to get the new gen Grand i10 Nios (globally called the i10) while the European-spec model will be revealed later in September, at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Grand i10 Nios will be sold in India alongside the existing model, however, the old Grand i10 is expected to be phased out once the BS6 norms kick in from April 2020.
The bookings have been commenced all over India and the car has come across all dealerships in India. The 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios comes with a new sleeker design, with sharper projector headlamps, LED DRLs, new cascading grille, sculpted bumper with aggressive lines and new fog lamps. Also, the car gets new floating style roof design; two-tone diamond cut alloys, sharper character lines and wraparound tail lamps among others. The new cabin gets white-black dual tone treatment, with an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, twin pod instrument console with MID, multi-function steering wheel, auto climate control with rear AC vents, and a segment-first wireless charging feature.
Talking about the exteriors, it features the all new splendid cascade grill in the front which gives it an overall sports look. The NIOS is 1680mm in width, that’s 20mm more than the previous Grand i10. The projector headlamps are placed below the air curtains, adding up to the sporty look. At the rear as well, the NIOS is much sportier than the previous model.
Like the Hyundai Venue, this also has a NIOS badge at the centre along with the grand i10 badge on the left top. It also has an extra strip of chrome at the bottom of the tailgate. It also features a floating roof design with the black cladding on the C-pillars. There is a textured G-i10 graphic on the C-pillars for an added bit of style. It still comes with roof rails as well. The taillights of the Grand i10 Nios miss out on LED elements. But it features an emergency stop signal in case of hard braking.
The NIOS comes with both petrol and diesel variants. It will be available in six colour options – Aqua Teal, Alpha Blue, Fiery Red, Polar White, Titan Grey and Typhoon Silver.
